"Clean water, basic toilets and good hygiene practices are essential for the survival and development of children. Today, there are around 2.4 billion people who do not use improved sanitation, and 663 million who do not have access to improved water sources." -UNICEF
UNICEF's water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) team works in more than 100 countries worldwide to improve water and sanitation services, as well as basic hygiene practices. In times of crisis, children are particularly vulnerable; UNICEF responds and provides emergency relief to those in need.
UNICEF's WASH team works to ensure that all children have the right to safe water and sanitation. With a powerful message, enlightening resources and content from all over the world, the main challenge was reaching a global audience in an already saturated social media space. In order to create a strong web presence, the WASH team needed to increase awareness and engagement across the appropriate social media channels.
Teamwork. Passion. And Persistence.
In order to achieve the desired results with a limited budget, we had to tap into the engagement power of millennials. By working closely with the WASH team, we were able to ensure UNICEF's WASH vision and goals were accurately represented through SEO and across all their social media platforms worldwide. Our team curated great video content to create short and engaging clips to increase reach and post impressions. By developing a cross channel marketing campaign, and reaching out to popular blogs and discussion groups, were able to increase engagement within the first month for the World Water Day campaign. Our success led to a continued relationship with UNICEF's WASH team to reach amazing results.
